July has arrived with fireworks in the background, que Star Spangled Banner 🇺🇸. We are living in unparalleled times. If we continue focusing on the scary negative, we will surely see even more of that. On the other hand, if we can stay grounded, centered, and focused on what we want to create, ⚡️Shazam…. It can be yours. 

 

Lately, I noticed I was feeling more down. An endless stream of sadness everywhere I turned. Cancer in young ones, honking angry people, and frustration that ‘things’ don’t look how I want them to look. I know the drill. When I’m feeling extra down, it’s time to regroup. Remember SSS! STOP, SURRENDER to the moment, and SWITCH the story. 

 

STOP. Stop and go inward. I take a few deep breaths calming my nervous system, and STOP whatever mind tunnel I’m allowing myself to go down. 

 

SURRENDER. Surrender to the NOW moment. Stress, anxiety, and worry creep in when we concern ourselves with the past or the future. And, when we STOP and SURRENDER to this NOW moment in this very second, we realize all is well. All is perfect. And calm. Offer gratitude for precisely this moment. There is nothing to worry about, stress over, or put an expectation on. Awwww. I can breathe!

 

Next is SWITCH. Switch is how I change the perspective of what I’m focusing on. If I’m focusing on all the scary in the world, it’s an invitation to SWITCH by looking for something more joyful instead.

 

What we focus on expands.

My NOW moment creates how I will feel in the next moment.
